My daughter lives in a historical neighborhood which provides many unique sights for me when I take my morning walks. The houses are older and steeped in stories of past and present owners. I find myself lost in wonderment as I make my way through the

streets and avenues.

Here are a few pics.

This is the Flora Tunnel near my daughter's house. It is lush with stunning plants and fragrances. It is clear the little lady who lives there enjoys puttering around and whispering to her plants. I try not to touch anything due to my Black Thumb Syndrome.

Farther down the street is someone who apparently has been scarred by others who have loved her plants a little too much. I hope the sign helped but it is probably a losing battle when it comes to stopping nefarious activity.

Sometimes Henny and Penny like to chuckle cluck at me when I pass by their abode. I haven't asked them for eggs, yet, but they certainly look like they could produce an omelet or two.

This tree is producing more than leaves. I am not sure about the aesthetics of the situation but if it helps keep the canine owners in line I guess it is a value added tree.

This large mural on the side of a building near my daughter's home is a popular photo op stop for fans of the Simpsons. The writer of the iconic show is from the area and, supposedly, the home of the Simpsons was based on the real town of Springfield, Oregon. Springfield jumped on the tourism bandwagon and is now only too happy to roll out the red carpet for the lovers of Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa.

One of the first birds to greet me when I arrived at my daughter's home was this California Scrub Jay. Like its cousin, the Blue Jay, it is not shy and is only too happy to let everyone know when there is something afoot in the neighborhood. I assured him that I am old and harmless.

I am not sure what is at the end of this street but it was a good reminder that a brisk morning hike in a new neighborhood is good for the brain. Walk on, my friends.
